Kuwait, 7th June, 2015: INJAZ-Kuwait hailed the success of its 8th National Company Program Competition that was held at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on 5 and 6 June, 2015. The winners of the competition were honored during a celebration ceremony, which was held on the occasion of INJAZ Kuwait’s 10 year anniversary, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Bader Al-Essa.
This year, a total of 250 students between the ages of 16 and 24, from private and public schools and universities, competed for the winning title of ‘Best Student Company of the Year 2015’.
During the ceremony, winners of the Company Program were announced where the ‘Best Student Company of the Year 2015’ award for the Universities category, sponsored by Gulf Bank, went to ‘En-Tire-Ly fun ” and for the high school category; ‘Sekan Sensor". The two winning companies will be representing Kuwait in the INJAZ Al-Arab regional competition. The ‘Most Innovative Product’ award was presented to ‘En-Tire-Ly fun’ for the universities category and to ‘Greenovation’ for the high school category, which was sponsored by Alghanim Industries and last but not least, the ‘Student Company with the Best Social Impact’ award went to ‘Sun Out’ for the universities category and ‘Helping Hands’ for the high schools category, which was sponsored by Zain.
The student companies were reviewed, assessed and selected based on their performance when presenting their company and the product or service they are offering through the project, and their performance during a set of interviews conducted by the a panel high-profile local business leaders from the private sector, throughout the two day event.
Mr. Omar Alghanim, CEO of Alghanim Industries, Chairman of INJAZ Kuwait and Board Member of INJAZ Al-Arab expressed his contentment on the occasion of INJAZ Kuwait’s 10th anniversary. He said, “Today, we celebrate INJAZ Kuwait’s 10 year anniversary; 10 years of success and achievements. The extended reach of INJAZ Kuwait’s leadership and entrepreneurial programs, proves just how determined the organization is to educate and empower a generation that is equipped to own its economic success.”
‘I’m very happy to honor young entrepreneurs and the winners of the Company Program competition, and those who benefited from INJAZ Kuwait’s programs, which act as support to diligent students who are interested in learning and gaining experience”, he added.
Rana Al Nibari, INJAZ Kuwait CEO, also expressed her happiness as she congratulated the winners of the competition. She said, “I would like to thank all of the participating students for their enthusiasm and more importantly, for their strong desire to learn and take on this responsibility with such great commitment. I would also like to congratulate the winning teams who represent the hard work and perseverance of each team member that participated in establishing the ‘Company’ and making it a success. INJAZ- Kuwait reached over 40,000 students since 2005, through more than 1,700 volunteers at over 60 schools and universities. INJAZ-Kuwait will continue to empower youth through different means and channels, fulfilling its pledge to this ambitious segment of society.
